Greetings and Welcome!
Fear and loathing among strangers in liquid modern life? That’s a mouthful, and perhaps a bit pedantic. Yet, it’s still a place to start.
So what it this site? Currently, it’s a work in progress emerging from the initial stages of development.
While more will be written, liquid modern life describes the current constellation of institutions, practices, and meanings making up our social world. Concepts oriented towards liquid modernity was developed by sociologist and social philosopher Zygmunt Bauman. A major repository of his work can be found in the Janina and Zygmunt Bauman Archive which are maintained by The Bauman Institute at the University of Leeds.
Feel free to look around and explore as more features and content become available. See what it is to explore fear and loathing, while still holding out a place for the sublime, in our liquid modern world.
